BACKGROUND STORY: It is said that Hedou Tiny was first grown in a small village called Hak Tau in Hong Kong. A local legend holds that an old man first began cultivating this variety and spreading seeds to fellow villagers. He asked only that the variety remain in the village. But, after outsiders came in the night to steal seeds, Hedou baby bok choy became famous across Hong Kong and eventually all over the globe. The delicious micro choy is a staple in many dishes and a perfect bite-sized veggie!

GROWING TIPS

  • Maturity: 40 days to full maturity
  • Sun Exposure: Requires 4-6 hours of direct sun exposure, in cooler climates. It benefits from afternoon shade/filtered light in warmer areas to prevent bolting.
  • Water: Ensure the soil remains moist but not waterlogged.Mulching can help retain soil moisture and regulate temperature.
  • Fertilizer: Bok choy is a heavy feeder, so consider adding a balanced organic fertilizer at planting time.
